The Power of Praising God

Acts 16:26
"And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison shook, and all the doors were immediately opened, and the all bonds loosed."

About midnight Paul and Silas were singing hymns to God and suddenly there was a violent earth quake and all the prison doors were opened and all the chains loosed. Oh praise His mighty name! Praise loosens chains, opens doors and breaks every bondage.

Praise is such a powerful weapon; praise causes our enemy to flee; praise strengthens the weary and battle fatigued heart. Every time you praise God, in spite of your circumstances, all of heaven comes to your aid.

Now I understand well, that sometimes you just don't feel like praising God when your emotions are completely spent, but praise Him anyway! This is your sacrifice of praise and God considers it a precious thing in His sight.

The Psalmist wrote, "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth," Psalm 34:1. How could he do this? Well, he new his God; he new that God would surround him with songs of deliverance, see Psalm 32:7

Anyone can praise God in the good times. But when you have to rise above your feelings and negative circumstances, that's when it really counts. When you're ruled by negative emotions and circumstances, your life will be like a roller-coaster ride; up one minute and down the next.

Don't live like that precious believer! Praise Him in all things and you'll move from weakness to strength, from defeat to victory, and the joy of the Lord will flood your heart, amen to that!

Have a blessed day
Paul
