Intimacy With The Holy Spirit

2 Corinthians 13:14
'The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all, Amen.'

One of the great truths that has been delivered to us, through the Word of God, is that we have been permanently graced with the presence of God Himself. Every born again believer has the Holy Spirit in residence; our bodies have become His temple, and He longs to fill us with His presence and power.

Now most of us have either heard of or used the 'gifts of the Spirit' to some degree, but the question is: Are we willing to let the gift giver (Holy Spirit) use us? There's a big difference, and it's worth exploring a little further.

As the time began to draw near for Jesus to be crucified, He began to teach the disciples about the Holy Spirit. "If you love Me, keep My commandments, and I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever, the Spirit of truth...for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you." John 14:15-18

The Holy Spirit is literally God up close and personal. This is good news for us; it means we can have an intimate relationship with God Himself. The Holy Spirit longs to fellowship with you dear reader; He wants you to get to know Him; He wants you to acknowledge His presence within you.

Getting a revelation of the Holy Spirit in you will change you life forever! You'll no longer be a 'dry' Christian; you'll experience His presence; you'll experience the joy of the Lord; you'll flow in the gifts, and you'll bear much fruit.

Getting intimate with the Holy Spirit is the key to seeing and experiencing the kingdom of heaven in your life. So how do you get intimate with Him? Here are some things to help you:

1) Hunger for more intimacy with Him.
When you enter your prayer closet, ask the Holy Spirit to help you to pray. Tell Him that you desire more intimacy with Him.

2) Realize that such a relationship with the Holy Spirit is possible; revelation is always key to the things of God.

3) Learn all you can about Him from scripture, this is where God will give you revelation.

4) Make a quality decision to go deeper with God; to be more available to Him.

5) Allow the Lord to put His loving finger on anything that displeases the Holy Spirit, and be willing to deal with it promptly.

The Holy Spirit desires to commune deeply with us, and He is waiting for whoever will hunger for more of Him. Dear reader, set your mind on the Holy Spirit today; desire more of Him, and your life will never be the same!

Have a blessed day
Paul
