Operating in Your God-Given Strength

1 Corinthians 12:4
'There are diversities of gifts...'

God gave you gifts that make you unique, and these gifts hold great possibilities for you. Paul writes, 'We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully,' Romans 12:6-8.

Successful people invest time, energy and resources into their core strengths because it's where they get the most return. This makes sense out there in the world, but what about in the Kingdom of God? As Christians we've been endowed with certain gifts and talents, but it's up to us to discover what they are and develop them.

Nobody is ever born without a talent/gift, including you, but you've got to discover it. How? You've got to go to God in prayer and meditate in the scriptures. God is not only the gift giver, but He also empowers that gift so that you can function in it successfully.

Note: Please don't confuse what I've written here with the manifestations of the Holy Spirit. These are supernatural gifts as the Spirit wills for a given moment of time in ministry. 'Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good,' 1 Corinthians 12:7.

Your core gifts and talents have been given, primarily, to serve others in God's Kingdom. When you go to God and spend some quality time with Him, you're going to find out some things about yourself. You're going to discover exactly how God has wired you up, and how He wants you to serve Him.

For example, I've worked in  'people centered' jobs for nearly 2 decades, why? Because that's where I fit best; that's where I felt God lead me. I don't work in the industry now, but the fire burns in my belly to continue helping people in their walk with the Lord.

After much prayer and soul searching it has become evident to me that the Lord has graced me with a shepherds heart, and He is leading me more into that kind of work. What about you dear reader, do you know your core strengths? Do you know how God has wired you up?

God has a plan for your life and He's equipped you with gifts/talents, but it's up to you to get a revelation of your God-given strengths. Once you know them you'll see more clearly your path ahead.

Have a blessed day
Paul
