Thinking & Acting Like Jesus (2) The Supernatural

John 5:19
'Then Jesus answered and said to them,' “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner."

In a recent post we saw that to think and act like Jesus would result in a radical character change, which is the work of the Holy Spirit, but that's not all there is to acting and thinking like Jesus.

Jesus operated in the supernatural on a consistent basis. He had just performed a miracle at the pool of Bethesda, and said this in response to an attack from the Jews...."Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do..." John 5:19.

Did you catch that? Jesus can only do what He sees the Father do! Even though Jesus embodied Deity, He chose to dwell in an earthen vessel;  He chose to become like us yet without sin; He chose to rely completely on the Holy Spirit to reveal what the Father was doing on any given day.

Our Lord and Savior set His mind on things above; His thinking was not limited to the things of man; His thinking was supernatural. His mind was filled with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, whom He was soon to give to His followers, and that includes you and I dear reader.

God expects us to think supernaturally like Jesus did, and He's sent the Holy Spirit to empower us to do so, praise God! When we begin to think supernaturally we'll soon see the miraculous in our lives. Jesus said in John 14:12, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

We believe on Jesus for assured salvation, but did you know that believing on Jesus also means to act and think like Him? A significant part of this 'acting and thinking' involves tapping into the Holy Spirit to see what the Father wants to do with our lives for the day.

So how do we tap into the Holy Spirit? By spending time with Him in the Word and Prayer. When you choose to shut the world out of your thoughts for a moment and center your mind and spirit on the Holy Spirit, He's going to supernaturally show you what your heavenly Father will's for your day.

It might be a scripture that He makes to jump of the page at you; it might be an inner vision; it might even be an open vision, or a dream at night. For example, I recently ministered to a young man who was being oppressed by an evil spirit. Now on the drive over to his house I began to focus on the Holy Spirit and I then asked Him, "Holy Spirit what do you want to do for the young man today?

Well, when I got to this young man's home I new exactly what I needed to do because the Holy Spirit impressed it on my heart, and He filled my mind with work that God was going to accomplish while I ministered to him. I supernaturally new that I had to teach him about the Holy Spirit, and rebuke an evil spirit, the result? The young man was set free and he had an encounter with the Holy Spirit.

Dear reader, God wants us to live this way every single day of our lives, and it begins with getting our mind off the things of the world and setting them on things above. Paul writes, 'If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth,' Colossians 3:1-2.

Thinking and acting like Jesus is a supernatural activity that God expects His children to practice, be diligent therefore to practice this. If you don't know how then pray something like this. 'Father help me to think and act as Jesus did; help me to set my mind on things above; help me to think supernaturally in Jesus name, amen.

Have a blessed day
Paul
