Behold Jesus & Be Transformed

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18

Ever since the death and resurrection of the Lord and our new birth in Christ, God the Holy Spirit has been working to change His people from glory to glory into the image of Christ. The problem is many Christians are still struggling with sin and condemnation, and they are filled with anxiety over their struggles believing that God is ready to pounce on them at any moment.

When you view God this way you're defeated before you even get out of bed in the morning! Well, this stops today dear believer in Christ because God has a plan, and it's this: Behold Him and be transformed. The more you behold Jesus the more you will be transformed into His likeness.

Many Christians try to deal with their sins and short comings by outward behavior modification. However, real change comes from within the heart of the believer, it is a deep work of the Holy Spirit. Keeping your eyes on Jesus leads a believer to the greatest expression of holiness, not focusing on outward behavior.

As you focus on Jesus and see His unconditional love, His forgiveness, His faithfulness, and patience, you're transformed from the inside out, glory be to God! The Christian life is not meant to be one of defeat and misery, no! The Christian life is meant to be one of victory over temptation and sin.

So how do you actually behold Jesus? I can think of only three ways to do this:

1) Spend some quality time with him in prayer. This means getting serious with the Lord and seeking Him earnestly, and daily. It means putting aside all the distractions of modern life, technology comes to mind here. Ask yourself this: How many hours to you spend 'face booking' on your favorite mobile device compared to how many hours you spend with the Lord?

2) Search for Him in the scriptures, meditating in His word. God is calling His people to get hungry for His word. God will speak to you through His word; He will speak comfort, encouragement, and rebuke if necessary so that you can grow and be transformed.

3) Get acquainted with the Holy Spirit, the One who dwells in you. For it is the work of the Holy Spirit to pour into your heart the Grace of God which brings divine influence for change. It is the Holy Spirit who also brings His purifying fire to completely cleans the soul from all worldly contamination, praise the Lord!

Be encouraged today dear reader, knowing that your God has a plan, a plan to transform you into the image of Jesus. All you need to do is earnestly seek and behold Him, trusting Him to work an extraordinary work of change in you.

Have a blessed week
Paul
