About

Hello there, and welcome to my blog Ekklesia

So why did I name my blog Ekklesia? Well Ekklesia means a world wide 'assembly' of people called out from the world to enjoy and serve God. This flock of the Lord's is His beloved heritage, and I'm so thankful to have been called into it. So naming my blog Ekklesia is both a honor and privilege for me.

Every time you see the word "church" in scripture, the Greek word Ekklesia is used and would be better translated as either out-called, out-called ones, or called out assembly. This was how Jesus and the new testament writers spoke of those who He has called out of the world and into His body.

Okay, now that I've got the question of the name out of the way here's why I decided to create this blog in the first place. Basically I love to write and I think I've got something to say that just might help some people in their faith.

To be clear, I'm not going to be posting lengthy articles on theology or trying to prove any particular doctrine, I'll leave that to those who love that kind of thing.  My purpose here is simple: To apply faith to everyday living, nothing more than that.

About Me

I was born in the UK and migrated to Australia in 1966 as a two year old. I grew up in Perth Western Australia spending about 25 years of that time in the country.  I was gloriously saved in a mining town 750 kilometers east of Perth in 1988.

I've studied the word of God intensely over the years, endeavoring to apply what I've learned to everyday living. Life has presented me with many heart breaking challenges, through the years, but Jesus has always been faithful. So here I am, hopeful to put finger to keyboard to share with you nuggets of truth that I've gleaned through doing life with Jesus and His word.
